A Talk to The Southern Woodworker Fellowship – Odiham

A talk to SWWF - Odiham 2022

A talk to SWWF – Odiham 2022

This will be the third occasion Colin has given a talk to SWWF Group in Odiham. Since starting his journey in self – employment to this group of keen amateurs through to professional makers in wood.

This talk/presentation will be in the form some examples of work and a slide presentation of more recent work,  In addition to some well established designs.

Questions are welcome at this talk after I have given and presented my slide show. Whether this about the use of timber, techniques of construction of the pieces on show or within the slide show.

The maker

Colin is quite a unique maker working in wood – in the sense that he covers a multitude of aspects of working in wood. He occasionally calls  on the skills of other craftspeople within some of his commissions.

This includes FurnitureLetter carving, Traditional and Sculptural wood turning  Courses at his workshop in wood turning. Occasionally also putting my varying skills to some restoration work as well.

I draw on my experience of working at the top of my profession for almost a quarter of a century.  Also having worked within a small commercial workshop and running my own workshop (since 2005) I like to think I can put my hands and mind to most items in wood!

In addition to the above talk / presentation – I hope to have a small selection of surplus tools for sale (wood and metal tools). A percentage of these sales will be donated to SWWF.
