Parkside – Horsham with The Sussex Guild
This is Colin’s first event of the year in Horsham – with the Sussex Guild . This is the third occasion the Guild will have shown in Horsham
With 2019 being the – Celebrating Horsham Year of Culture this is an ideal event to attend
Colin has exhibited in Horsham a couple times before, including Horsham Museum; His work is fairly new to this area of Sussex.
What will you find on Colin’s stand? As well as one or two examples of furniture (including his signature “lattice range“) there will be many of his smaller items ideal for that personal gift, that wedding to attend in 2019?
Colin will be showing alongside other designer makers.. On display will be a spectacular variety of superb, well-designed and beautifully made crafts, which have been created in workshops and studios across Sussex and the adjoining counties. RHS Wisley with Craft in Focus
Colin will be exhibiting at this large outside event for the fourth year with Craft in Focus at RHS Garden Wisley at their Spring event. , One of my favourite venues with it’s expansive beautiful gardens (especially if the weather is kind – too hot in 2018!)
This is a good opportunity to view a large array of Colin’s work – with a decent sized stand booked, there is the opportunity to stand back to admire his latest work and purchase that special piece for your home and garden, whether a piece of Furniture designed and made to commission, a decorative Sculptural Turning or a coloured piece, a new letter carved House Sign or a piece from his Products range.
The Spring event at RHS Gardens Wisley is one of the largest events that Craft in Focus organises. This event will be held mainly in floored marquees within the beautiful surroundings of RHS Garden Wisley so visitors will be able to view and purchase contemporary craft and art from around 170 exhibitors whilst also enjoying the beautiful spring garden with its huge plant collection. As with 2018 – will be an additional 30 craftspeople who will be demonstrating their crafts during the show.
In addition visitors will be able to discover a diverse range of sculptures, garden art and outdoor exhibits as they wander around the world renowned garden and up towards the state-of-the-art glasshouse where there will be a display of work by some of the UK’s finest contemporary silversmiths.
Purchase from a stunning treasure trove of original and affordable designs created by some of the finest craftsmen and artists in the UK. Textiles, paintings, Furniture, metal, leather, ceramics, jewellery, glass, fashion and more…

A Talk to The Southern Woodworker Fellowship – Odiham
Colin will be giving a talk to this small group of skilled enthusiasts of makers (SWFF) – with a slide show showing some examples of work from his journey as a craftsman since he went self – employed in 2005.
The second half of the talk will encompass a project or two he has worked on – with the emphasis on the solutions he decided to use……… within these projects to create a suitable outcome to the problem.
Worthing – Weekend Open Houses with John Evans. (WAOH)
This event is open over three weekends not far from the seafront in Worthing. As part of the larger scheme of Worthing Artists Open Houses.
This venue has a strong reputation for high quality work, an excellent list of artists and makers exhibiting in the house and garden with a good mix of craft and art disciplines – glass, leather, wood, ceramics, pewter, jewellery, textiles, paintings. sculptures.
Having exhibited at this event last year – being only over two weekends, there was limited opportunity to discover and appreciate this venue with the high standard of exhibits on show and for sale.
In 2019, with some new exhibitors and three weekends to discover this venue why not discover this treasure trove (no smugglers!) of exhibits and maybe decide to purchase one of these really useful or decorative items from the talented artisans work on display.
Henfield Contemporary Craft Show with The Sussex Guild
A well placed location, to visit this new event – it is just off the A23 or A281 (12 miles from Brighton.)
With Henfield being part of the Festival of Culture 2019, the Sussex Guild are delighted to be exhibiting in this newly refurbished hall in Henfield. The Contemporary Craft Show will take place in the main hall, foyer and garden suite of the newly refurbished Henfield Hall. There is an adjacent car park and refreshments will be available throughout the day. Henfield Museum is also situated in this building.
Henfield is a small town with a comfortable pace of life that reminds you just how hectic most places are these days.
There will be around 35 exhibitors at this event including ceramics, glass, jewellery, metalwork, wood and many others.
The entry fee for this event – £3.00, students and children free.
Michelham Priory – with The Sussex Guild
The Sussex Guild has exhibited at Michelham Priory for the last 50 years (I have for about a decade!) – So this must be the venue to attend with traditions in mind?
Michelham Priory is a Sussex Past property with the largest moat in England, with a Tudor House, watermill, reconstructed prehistoric round houses, children’s play area and licensed restaurant there’s something for everyone at Michelham Priory. So a great family day out?
The exhibitors will be showing their exhibits on display and for sale within the grounds of the Priory including the Elizabethan Barn, on the drive way and in marquees on the lawns either side of the Barn.
With traditional being the theme – Colin normally shows a good range of his home range including various sized boards and traditional utensils including Dibbers and Spurtles as well as a few individual turned pieces.
With ample parking and spaces to explore – this is an ideal place to spend the best part of a day (subject to our British weather!)
Admittance costs –
Child (5-16): £4.90
Student / Senior: £8.80
Family: £25.50 (2 adults and up to 4 children)
Gift Aid ticket options available.
Pashley Manor & Gardens – with The Sussex Guild
Pashley Manor and Gardens are in a beautiful setting with a privately owned Tudor House and immaculately maintained gardens and grounds surrounding.
A great location on the East Sussex & Kent border – with also many contemporary sculptures within the grounds on show and for sale – Every Bank Holiday in August, The Sussex Guild with about 45 exhibitors show within a marquee on the lawns in front of the house.
With a huge variety of crafts on show within beautiful surroundings (with good weather?) – this is a great place to enjoy some of the best this country has to offer in regards to craftsmanship and gardens (Did you know a nationally recognised Tulip Festival takes place here in May?)
One of the great delights about this location is : produce from the Kitchen Garden, which is at its most bountiful in summer, can be sampled at the excellent Garden Room Café. (I would highly recommend this – having enjoyed the food for many years every time I exhibit here)
There is a Garden Room café with terrace, or picnics may be taken in the car park field with marvellous views of the front façade of the Tudor house and surrounding hills.
Colin has not shown at Pashley Manor & Gardens – with The Sussex Guild for a couple of years, so he is looking forward to returning to this unique location……… and relaxed pace of life!
As well as exhibiting his range of decorative items alongside his domestic range of Kitchen and Garden products, Colin will be on hand to discuss commissions – maybe a newly made letter carved house sign is required?
The special price of £9.00 includes entry to the gardens and show.
Disabled visitors are made most welcome with easy access to the craft marquee; however, the gardens are only partially accessible to the disabled. Please call 01580 200888 for more details.
At the – De La Warr Pavilion with The Sussex Guild.
Colin has shown at the iconic and eye catching De la Warr Pavilion for the last four years. This venue is in a fabulous location with the expansive views out to sea from the Pavilion.
With over fifty exhibitors – this is probably one of the largest shows the Guild organises apart from Midhurst.
Why not get in some early festive season shopping done with such variety on show.
Colin will be showing a variety of his smaller items on his stand, as space is limited at this venue…… but you wont be disappointed by the variety.
With a restaurant on the upper floor, or a brisk walk along the sea front – there is plenty of time to think about that special purchase?
Information for the show
Parking: De La Warr Pavilion has its own parking and there is free parking along the seafront.
Train: The De La Warr Pavilion is a short walk from Bexhill railway station.
Wellington College (Berkshire) with Craft in Focus
Colin will be showing for the third time at Wellington College (Berkshire) with Craft in Focus.
This is one of the first of the festive season of shows, with such a variety of products on show; this is an ideal opportunity to do some early shopping or just browsing to purchase at a latter show. (Be aware – all products are made are one – off or made in small batches, so once sold are possibly not available again in 2019!)
This Berkshire craft fair is held in the sports club of Wellington College. Set in around 400 acres, this is one of the oldest independent schools in the country.
Indoor event with ample free parking and full disabled access (disabled parking is via the entrance through the business park).
Purchase from a stunning treasure trove of original and affordable designs created by some of the finest craftsmen and artists in the UK. Textiles, paintings, furniture, metal, leather, ceramics, jewellery, glass, fashion and more…
Tickets may be purchased on entry to the show and are not available in advance.
Come to Winchester Guildhall with Craft in Focus
Colin will be exhibiting at this event at Winchester Guildhall for the third time. Winchester is a vibrant city with a great history and strong cultural links.
The Guildhall in Winchester is ideally placed to the main city centre and with good transport links by rail, bus and car with numerous Park and Ride locations and many Car Parks……..
Why not spend a day here in this historic city, a real cultural experience with the cathedral close by, plenty of restaurants and high street shops ( However – I am sure you will be impressed by the number of stands and its variety on show in the Guildhall)
With this being my most local show with Craft in Focus, come and see my latest pieces; have a chat with me and maybe you have a commission in mind for 2020!
If you wish to see more examples of my work – but on show in a local public setting to Winchester, head nearby to St Nicholas Church, Wickham PO17 6HR. (A traditional set of ecclesiastical furniture but with a contemporary twist?)
