These are my Sculptural Wood turning signature pieces. Both made from open grain timbers, Ash (Slate blue), Elm or Sweet Chestnut (Green).
The finish has been applied to the timber to give a ceramic/stone appearance. These turned items are generally scrubbed, coloured and limed to pronounce the grain. The grain selection is particularly important to achieve a balanced appearance to this type of work.
