Spurtles for stirring – liquid foods

From: £30.00

Spurtles (Scottish word) – Porridge/sauce stirrers

Spurtles have been used for centuries as a “stick” for stirring liquids. The advantage of a spurtle over a spoon – is you don’t get any lumps. With a spoon there is a hollowed out section, this is where the lumps form. A spurtle has a long taper, meaning that there is less chance of those lumps forming. They are made in a variety of timbers. Oak is an everyday choice, with close grained examples in Holly, Damson & Boxwood always popular. Please note: These spurtles vary in design – it may be advisable with your order to ask me to send out a WhatsApp photo, of the individual items I am sending you.
