Colin Norgate – My events in 2020

Happy New Year to my followers.

With 2020 upon us now – time to start putting this years events  on your calendar.

With a couple exciting commissions to undertake in the earlier part of the year – most of my shows this year are September on wards.

Colin Norgate – My events in 2020

The first occasion is the Surrey Guild  sale in the gallery in Milford between 7th – 26th January.

I have put a few items into the sale.  mainly much earlier pieces that are priced at material costs. (There are some real bargains – if you are happy to use them for their function rather than as a decorative piece) The occasional chopping board, Candle holders, Dibbers and a few bowls

There also many other pieces to choose from in the gallery from other members including Ceramics, Jewellery, Textiles, Kaleidoscopes and Wood

After five years I will be leaving the Sussex Guild shop at the end of February (for a couple of years?).  Having a break to create some new work in particular small furniture and batch items.

The first show of the year is with Craft in Focus at RHS Wisley – a well established show with over 200 exhibitors.

A couple of new shows for me in September – starting with Hever Castle

Special show – St Nicholas Church Wickham

Look out for a special one – off event to celebrate “Skilled Hands in Contemporary Crafts” in St Nicholas Church Wickham. This is an event to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the church and promote the Crafts

Expected are up to 20 individual leading crafts people in their particular medium in the UK. Showing and selling the exquisite work with the opportunity to commission a special piece of work?

In 2012 & 2013 I made a set of Choir Stalls  and Litany Desks for this Church.

Made from a single Oak tree with detailing in Yew. The Yew came from the Church yard.

Towards the end of the year – the shows will be coming thick and fast. To finish the year with a popular show for many exhibitors and visitors at Midhurst Rother College  with The Sussex Guild.
