Although, sadly all my events (public) have all now been cancelled for 2020 – visits to my workshop can still be made by prior appointment (a day’s notice is advisable!).
You can either order items online (photos can be taken of a small selection to give a limited choice of grain structures available)
Come to my workshop by appointment, saying which products you wish to view and I can get them out of their protective packaging to give you a full choice of the items currently in the showroom. Also take the opportunity to see where I make the items you see on the website!
Colin Norgate – My events in 2020 (all have been cancelled) – read on to see some of the projects I will be involved in 2021 (those which have been delayed hopefully only by 9 months)
With the Covid – 19 pandemic – events are gradually being cancelled, as time progresses with updates continuously changing – all a bit uncertain when the shows will take place again……..
With a couple exciting commissions to undertake in the earlier part of this year and some work to do on my own house! – most of my shows planned this year were September on wards. Time will tell if they take place! – Sadly not………..
Colin Norgate – My events in 2020
After five years in the Sussex Guild shop at the end of February I left to have a break to create some new work in particular small furniture and batch items.
An opportunity came up to show at Haslemere Museum and shop – although this is now partially open with the shop again opening in November.
Later in the year – I hope to show also at Petersfield Museum and shop – although in the midst of a major redevelopment project – I expect this will be 2021 due to the pandemic.
Both venues will eventually show my work featuring the use of local timbers as well as more specialised and one – off pieces.
Shows – if they proceed?
A new show for me in September – looking forward to exhibiting at Hever Castle
Special show – St Nicholas Church Wickham – (Cancelled)
Look out for a special one – off event to celebrate “Skilled Hands in Contemporary Crafts” in St Nicholas Church Wickham. This is an event to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the church and promote the Crafts
Expected are up to 20 individual leading crafts people in their particular medium in the UK. Showing and selling the exquisite work with the opportunity to commission a special piece of work?
Made from a single Oak tree with detailing in Yew. The Yew came from the Church yard.
With the end of the year speedily approaching? – there is now only one show that may take place……….. Winchester Guildhall with Craft in Focus
I am glad to announce – The Surrey Guild Gallery has now reopened – Thursdays – Sundays each week from 11am to 4pm on each of those days with the days increasing in November and December.
Finally – with all my events in 2020 having been cancelled, there are a number of new pieces made during lock down that have not managed to really see the “light of day”……….
Why not have a look at my Craftsmanship / Shop page to see if you can choose an item for your festive list? – I am happy to get specific work out from their safe boxes in my showroom. You just need to Contact me to make an appointment at the workshop! (or trust your instincts and order from the array of products and receive it within a couple days if in “stock”)
