| How to Commission a piece |
|
|
I hope to make the experience of commissioning a piece, an enjoyable as well as an exciting process.
Process
1. Initial discussion/brief
2. Scale drawing – (1:10 scale). Further discussions about job – designs, timber & details.
3. Confirmation & commencement of job
4. Half – way: I invite the client to view the piece under construction.
5. Completion: I invite the client to view the final piece before delivery.
The Brief.
After a preliminary discussion between the client and myself: This will include proposals of the design, type of timber, client’s budget and timescale of piece
I will draw some ideas - in the form of a scale drawing. (1:10 scale).
Initial Consultation Fee.
After the initial brief – and before the process of a scale drawing: there will be an initial fee of 10% of the budgeted piece.
This amount is within the final price of the commissioned piece.
Payment.
Once the design has been agreed and you are happy to proceed with the commission: There will be three equal payments – first payment: start of job. 30%
Second payment: half way. * 30%
Final payment: on completion (delivery). 30% * I encourage the client to visit the piece under construction, at this point.
Delivery.
I will personally arrange delivery of the piece to the client.
